THIS was another tough game for Nailsea Churches, who had to dig deep for this result.

The visitors, looking to put some distance between them and the relegation zone took the lead, early on only for John Moulding, with his ninth goal of the season to level the scores just before half-time.

Nailsea took the lead, after the break when Mike Woodward fired in a stunning free kick, into the top corner from 23 yards out. However, Sporting pushed forward and despite resolute defending by Nailsea they equalised, with 10 minutes remaining through an unfortunate own goal.

However, Nailsea did not let their heads drop, they pushed forward and nicked a deserved winner through James Robinson. Mike Woodward was Nailseas’ man of the match, with John Moulding voted oppositions MVP.
