With Kenn Valley visiting top of the league Nailsea for a true local derby, it did not disappoint as the first half threw up goals galore.
The scoring started on 10 minutes from a simple free kick which found Andy Vowles to nod home. Shortly after, Vowles was adjudged to have committed a foul in the box for Nailsea to equalise from the spot.
The home side nearly took the lead when a shot hit both posts before Andrews cleared off the line with a last ditch tackle. KVFC took the lead through Mogg finding Davies who slotted past the keeper.
Another attack found Nailsea wide open for Loiue Hallett to bag the third who then turned provider for strike partner Thomas to lash home.
Nothing eased off with chances being created at both ends, but the fifth Valley goal came from a direct free kick where Stanley hit a thunderous shot past the stranded keeper for a 5-1 half time lead.
Shell shocked Nailsea came out fighting the second half with nothing to lose and left Valley happy to defend in numbers, but always ready for the counter attack.
On 65 minutes Nailsea pulled one back, but a triple change by manager Alan Puddy for fresh legs of Davies, Shipway and Richards proved key as the double change up front caused enough problems to dampen the Nailsea attacks for Valley to see themselves deserved winners of this entertaining match.
