North Somerset Football Development Under-13 player Jack Sell has signed for Bristol Rovers Academy.

NORTH Somerset Football Development Under-13 player Jack Sell has signed for Bristol Rovers Academy.

Jack has been an integral part of the team’s successful season so far and it is with no surprise he has been offered a contract.

Jack’s record in the Junior Premier League this season is played eight, scored seven, one gold and one bronze which is a very good record, considering he plays centre midfield.

Jack’s programme with North Somerset this season has been two hours training per week plus one hour of Futsal.

North Somerset currently have 22 players on trial at five different pro club academies, 64 players have signed professional club academy contracts since North Somerset Football Development formed in 2008, with two current first team regulars at Bristol Rovers in League 2.

Alex Hinder, head of recruitment at Bristol Rovers has recently been to Nailsea School’s 4G pitch to watch North Somerset train where he was impressed.

He said: “I was really impressed with the training. Two coaches working on each group working the players very hard, there was plenty of talent there and Bristol Rovers were very pleased to invite 11 of them for a six-week trial at the academy.”
