Poertishead Town Girls Under-14s reached the final of the Westbury Youth tournament, but lost out in a penalty shoot-out.

On an extremely hot Sunday afternoon, a Portishead Town Under-14 girls team of Phoebe Delafaille, Romia Nash, Kim Parker, Keiana Jones, Katherine Southern, Keira Howse and Emily Edwards competed in the Under-15 section of the Westbury Youth tournament.

They qualified for a semi-final against Westbury Youth A by beating Clevedon United 2-0 (Jones and Edwards), Westbury Youth B 1-0 (Nash) and Swindon Spitfires 1-0 (Edwards) at the group stage, only losing 1-0 to a deflection against Eastleigh.

In a keenly-fought semi-final against a Westbury Youth Under-15 team featuring Academy players, Portishead ran out 1-0 winners with a thunderbolt from Edwards.

In a rematch of an earlier group game, the final was a tight affair against an Eastleigh Under-15 team also featuring Academy players. At 0-0 after extra time, the final went to penalties, which Eastleigh won 1-0.
