LEADERS Boco played third placed Portishead in an exciting match with lots at stake.

The Portishead girls controlled
the first half with Anya Colyer, Rebecca Halford, Rhea Hall and Ellie Hill playing some fine passing football and should have taken the lead after several close range
shots.

Boco worked hard to keep Portishead out and showed why they are top of the league. Portishead defenders Francis O’Day, Andante Singer were brilliant and captain and goalkeeper Eloise Tywford was outstanding throughout the match with some great saves.

Portishead introduced debutant Kia Thorn with immediate impact, she ran at the Boco defenders causing all sorts of problems and was unlucky not to score.

The second half was much like the first, with end-to-end football. Portishead introduced midfielders Ed Davison and Jemilla Colyer to keep the pressure on.

At the final whistle all the players were exhausted. Portishead showed they could compete at the highest level.

Portishead player of the match was Kia Thorn.
