Portishead Reserves come from behind to defeat Cheddar.

PORTISHEAD Reserves, fresh from their cup win last week, entertained Cheddar in the league.

Posset fell behind to a 15th minute goal against the run of play when injured keeper Hailwood was
beaten with a low shot and midfielder Dave O’Rielly had to take his place in goal.

Will Cook making his debut and slotted into centre midfield. The hosts equalised on the half hour when a fine cross from Sam Ewing was flicked on by Jake Sutton and the ball was nodded in by Danny Fowler for his first goal of the season.

Posset were well on top and many chances and were unlucky not to take the lead on several occasions and went in at half-time at 1-1.

Portishead started the second half as they finished the first, camped in and around the Cheddar box and took the lead when Nic Steadman fired home a stunning shot into the top corner on 55 minutes.

The third goal was another well-taken goal by Fowler, scoring his second when he nipped in in front of the advancing Cheddar keeper, nodding the ball past him then slipping the ball into the empty net.

On 70 minutes, Steadman was replaced by Nick Walker up front. Portishead’s fourth goal came from the head of captain Ollie Hatfield when he rose unmarked to head home Ewing’s corner.

The Richwood Construction man of the match was Jake Sutton.
