PORTISHEAD Reserves travelled to Glastonbury for their second round cup tie in the Somerset Senior Cup to face Premier League opposition.

Posset gave debuts to Charlie Lawton at right back, Nick Walker at right midfield and Jerry Osgood in goal.

Glastonbury went into a 2-0 lead after half-an-hour, but the visitors reduced the arrears just before the break when a flick from George Parsons was netted by Edd Dunn.

Portishead started the second half on top and a fine through ball to Danny Fowler was blazed over the bar. Charlie Lawton was then sacrificed Posset made a tactical switch to a 3-5-2 formation with Sean Gilhespy playing in midfield.

The visitors brought on Ryan Benn and Filliter as they looked for an equaliser. With five minutes left, Posset finally got the goal they deserved when Dunn netted from close range.

In extra time a fine run from Dunn and a through ball to Gilhespy saw him upended in the box and the resulting penalty was blasted wide by Fowler.

In the second half of extra time, Dunn completed his hat-trick with a fine low shot and then got his and Posset’s fourth goal in the dying minutes to seal the victory.

Man of the match was George Parsons.
