Clevedon United Under-8s Girls finished runners-up to the hosts at the Portishead tournament.
Clevedon United Under-8 Girls entered the Portishead tournament and finished as runners-up.
In a group of seven, they knew they had to finish in the top two to make the final and for over half the squad, this was their first-ever tournament.
Over the six group games, Clevedon won four and drew two. They scored nine goals through Cassidy (4), Evie H (3), and first-ever competitive goals for Malika and Evie G.
This was supported by brilliant play from Erin, Evie C, Maisie, Ruby and Hope in her first-ever competitive games in goal, who kept six clean sheets.
In the final, the girls were matched against their close rivals Portishead and on this occasion the hosts ran out deserved winners.
Girl of the tournament went to Hope, who was outstanding throughout.
With the girls moving into the Bristol Girls Under-9 League next season, coach Russ Gregory is on the lookout for some more girls to strengthen the squad.
Training will start in August, so if any girls are interested and are currently in year two or three, please contact email@example.com
