Clevedon Town Walking Football Over-50s reached the regional finals after defeating Weston 5-4 on aggregate over two legs.
Clevedon Town Walking Football Over-50s defeated their Weston counterparts 5-4 in an exciting county final.
The final was played over two legs with the first leg played at the Everyone Active Stadium and it was Weston who started the better scoring first. Clevedon scored midway through the first period through Andy Fox, but just before half-time Weston scored on a breakaway to make it 2-1.
After a half-time team talk from manager Keith Seabourne, Clevedon came out fired up and soon equalised with a another goal by Fox. With Jeremy Ginn causing problems for the Weston defence, he scored from a Jonathon Fry pass, before a Roger Eyles flick from a Nigel Fowler ball made it 4-2.
Tony Merrett came on for Fry and combined with Peter Trower for the latter to complete the scoring.
Weston made Ian Neilson in the Clevedon goal produce a wonder save and this was to prove crucial when the second leg was played.
Weston hosted the second leg and with Clevedon missing some players and lost 2-0, but this was enough to put them through to the regional final against teams from Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. This will be played at the Everyone Active Stadium on September 3.
