Clevedon under-eight girls made the perfect start to their first season in the Bristol Girls' League with a hard-fought 8-5 win at Whitchurch Sports.

They raced into a 3-0 lead inside 10 minutes and remained in control throughout, with Isabelle pulling off some great saves in goal.

Their defence was superbly marshalled by Seren, as Ella H pulled the strings in midfield alongside the all-action Lizzie.

Ella M and Farah formed an exciting partnership in attack, scoring four and three goals respectively, with an own goal completing their tally.

Clevedon United JFC is an FA Charter Standard club with boys and girls teams from reception to under-16. If you are interested in joining the club as a player, coach or committee member contact, leave a message on the club's Facebook page (Clevedon United Junior Football Club) or visit
