Swiss Valley Rangers Girls’ teams took part in three matches over the weekend.

Three Swiss Valley Rangers Junior Girls teams played at home this weekend. Both the Under-10 and 11s played against Team Mendip in friendly matches, while the Under-12s had a league match versus FC Bath.

The Under-11 Mendip team left victorious against both Swiss Under 10 and 11s however, there was a lot for the home side to be proud of. The commitment and energy in the second period from both teams, coupled with a more settled team caused the visitors lots of problems.

Lily G was a threat every time she had the ball going forward for the Under-11s and was rewarded with a goal. Alex made a great start in her debut performance, supported well by Darcy, Ella, Jasmine K, Maya, Lucy and Maddie, who all had good games. Evie B was awarded player of the match.

The Under-10s of Eva, Rosie, Isabelle, Evelyn, Bethany, Bridie, Natalie, Poppy and Bella had a harder challenge playing their first-ever match against a team older and taller than them.

Despite conceding several goals, this was a great experience for the Swiss girls who applied themselves really well.

The Under-12s were excellent against FC Bath. Goals from Jas M, Nancy, Xara and two from Ella W proved to be too much for the away side.

Swiss were in control from start to finish and were able to change the team around to give some experience to debutants Kaylin, Maya, Ella H and Darcy.

The defence stayed organised for the majority of the match led by Ella B at the back, who won the girl of the match award for her efforts.

Fern, Libby and Maggie also had great games and Amelia had another fantastic performance in goal. That is two wins out of two for Swiss who are having another great start.
