The biggest crowd of the day in the league witnessed Ashton & Backwell slip up at home to Keynsham Town.

The hosts started well with Townsend, Bishop and Walker all going close, while at the other end, Stags’ Coombes, resplendent in fluorescent lime green, was also kept busy.

After the break, the visitors took the lead when Coombes failed to clear and Wilson, having won the ball far too easily, picked his spot to defeat the Stags’ custodian.

With the home team now chasing the game, Ollis managed to steal the ball in his own half before cutting in past the defender and shooting beyond a despairing Coombes for the visitors’ second.

Next Saturday finds the Stags away at Bristol Telephones seeking to maintain their recent away form.

Team: Coombes, Devoy (Jones 84), Sollars, Bishop, Biggins, Saunders (c), Hardidge, Jarrett (Ellis 81), George Jones, Townsend, Walker.
