Late goals from former Portishead Town duo Calum Townsend and Dan Elson saw Ashton & Backwell to victory against their old club in Toolstation Western League Division One on Saturday.
On a beautiful sunny day, the Stags kept their hopes of a top-three finish alive after coming from behind for a 2-1 win and host Corsham Town at the Lancer Scott Stadiuum on the final day of the season.
Defences dominated during the first half of their derby, with Saul Jarrett's tenactiy winning a corner from which Joe Bishop headed just over.
Man of the match Jordan Bishop took the ball past several visiting defenders to set up Townsend, who saw his shot on the turn well saved by Ley.
Meanwhile, Portishead's best chance of the opening 45 minutes saw Chapman head over from Harlington's corner just before the interval.
Town made a brighter start to the second half, as Harlington and Chapman combined to force Aaron Sainsbury into early action.
Joe Bishop made a telling intervention on 49 minutes to stop Cox's shot, before Eastwood beat three defenders to advance into the Stags box and force a good low save from Sainsbury down at the foot of a post.
However, Portishead made the breakthrough on 69 minutes as the Stags defence stood waiting for an offside flag and were punished as Cox looped the ball into the box for Chapman to score.
The goal sparked the home side into action, but they could not manage anything decisive apart from a long-range shot from Sam Thomas that Ley was forced to save.
Then, with only three minutes left, the busy Jarrett crossed from the right to Elson, who teed up an unmarked Townsend to stroke home the equaliser.
And two minutes later, Lott conceded a free-kick just outside the box and Townsend fired it goalwards for Elson to force home.
Jordan Bishop took the man of the match award for the Stags, whose youngsters have shown plenty of promise this season, and the inaugural supporters' player of the season award will be handed out this weekend.
