Cleeve West Town Football Club is celebrating its 50th year playing at the King George V playing fields.
Cleeve West Town Football Club has started pre-season training at the club on Tuesdays from 7pm.
The club fields three teams and new players are always welcomed as the club builds up for its 50th year playing at the King George V playing fields in Cleeve.
Chairman Mark Williams said: “This is going to be a big year with several celebratory events planned during the season to mark our 50th anniversary here at Cleeve.
“We will kick it off in early September with an over 35s vets and legends game for which I urge all ex players reading this to get in touch, even if they only have 10 minutes in their legs. There’ll be an evening event following the games and it will be great to see as many old faces as possible, with or without their boots.
“We will follow this up during the season with among other things a cider festival, a six-a-side tournament and evening gala event with speaker. We are working hard behind the scenes to boost our fundraising efforts and are looking to local businesses to help us. There is also a managerial opportunity at the club so as you can imagine I have a busy few months coming up.”
If anyone is interested in playing, sponsoring, getting involved on the management side at Cleeve, or just wants more information on any of the above events, please contact chairman Mark Williams on 07785 710315.
