Portishead Town claimed all three points after a 2-1 win at Toolstation Western League Division One rivals Almondsbury.

Both sides went into the match on the back of convincing wins, but chances were at a premium in the first half although Paddy Royal's last-ditch tackle denied the hosts.

Posset had one good chance of their own as Luke Coghlan broke and squared for Louie Elliot, who was too late arriving.

The visitors took the lead on 48 minutes, though, as Alex O'Keeffe played in Mitch Osmond, who fired a 25-yard shot into the top corner.

And it was 2-0 when Jordan Thaws played in Elliot, who was brought down in the box and sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot.

Almondsbury hit back on 75 minutes but were reduced to 10 men late on after a tackle on Dan Parslow.

Osmond took the BH Associates man of the match award for Portishead, who host Warminster Town on Saturday (3pm).
