THIS was most definitely a game of two halves, the first by far the best performance for several weeks by Portishead Under-11s girls.

Straight from the kick-off, Portishead went on the attack and within the first two minutes Rhea Hall scored a fantastic goal. The two wingers, Anya Colyer and Jemilla Colyer made some brilliant runs and
provided excellent crosses for Rebecca Halford to fire into the back of the net three times.

The fifth goal came 10 minutes before half-time after an excellent tackle in midfield and a wonderful pass by Ellie Hill splitting the Boco defence for Ellie Davidson to score.

The improving defence worked well as a unit with returning goalkeeper Eloise Twyford organising her defenders Caitlin Meredith and Francis O’Dea well.

The manager’s half-time team talk seemed to be misunderstood, as all went to pot. Jess Smailes worked hard on the wing against some strong opposition and provided some great crosses.

Player of the match was Anya Colyer, who had a magnificent game on the wing.
