Nailsea Ladies slipped to defeat to Lodway in this derby encounter.

Nailsea Ladies 2

Lodway Ladies 5

Lodway opened the scoring, but Nailsea captain Gee Corner reduced the arrears with some sterling work.

The play was equally distributed with both sides threatening, but Nailsea took the lead when Jen Roach lifted the ball over the diving keeper. Lodway brought the game level again to finish the first half 2-2.

Nailsea struggled throughout the second half despite player of the match Hannah Clark having an excellent game in defence and keeper Laura Pople making several great saves.

Nailsea found it difficult to contain the Lodway front runner Ali Davies, who owned the second half. Nailsea were unable to make their game play work for them and three goals in this half saw Lodway take the points.

Nailsea still sit at the top at the Christmas break, with time to recharge before facing the second half of the season.
