Clevedon Athletic Club member Debbie Powell has completed five of the six major world marathons after finishing the New York Marathon.

Clevedon Athletic Club member Debbie Powell headed overseas to compete for the first time in the New York Marathon, one of the six world marathon majors.

Debbie found the course into the city particularly tough with consistent pacing difficult on the undulating route. However, great support from the crowd and a clear, calm day made the difference and Debbie was pleased to cross the line in Central Park in 3.22.

She has now competed in five of the six majors, with just Tokyo left to complete the set.

If you would like to join in with the success of Clevedon Athletic Club, please come along to a training session - Tuesday and Thursday evenings, leaving from Strode Leisure Centre at 7pm.

Online entries are now open for the popular Boxing Day Races - full details of the junior and adult events can be found at www.clevedonac.co.uk
