Winning start for Claverham

Claverham A get off to a winning start, winning by 40 runs.

CLAVERHAM A got off to a slow start against Saltford Fairway in their North Somerset Cricket League fixture.

Batting first, Claverham lost Howells, Croker and Dowsing in reaching 57 after 20 overs. However, Holmes (54) and Yates (57) took the score to 150 when both were out within an over of each other. A Croker came in and hit a quick 20 to take the total to 176-6.

Saltford got off to a quick start before wickets began to fall. There was an excellent caught and bowled for Raymond and Hickey took a fine catch as Saltford were bowled out for 136.

Man of the match was Holmes.
