Portishead Cricket Club are trying to get more girls and women involved in the sport.

Under-11 and under-13 teams were set up last year and a women's side has been formed this year and members will continue to play in the winter indoor league at Gordano School.

Rachel Lewis and John Wilford have completed a level two coaching course, with others taking assistant coaching courses, and a young activator from the under-15 team has also been helping out.

The under-11s won two games and lost one at the Wembdon Festival, while the women won two and lost two at the Uphill Castle Festival.

Sandrine Daley took an excellent one-handed catch, while Annabella Lewis played with her leg in a brace - with a teammate acting as a runner - to show real 'This Girl Can' spirit.
