Nailsea Under-15s defeated holders Bristol in the North Somerset League Championship final.

NAILSEA Under-15s beat holders Bristol in the North Somerset League Championship final to win the title for the first time in nearly 10 years.

Batting first, Robbie Riddicks top scored with 30 for Nailsea, wit George King adding a quick 25 to post a competitive total of 104-4 wickets.

In reply, Bristol lost early wickets with Kody Mortimer taking 2-2 and then spinner Harry Tidball claimed 3-5 to leave Bristol in deep trouble. They finished on 45 all out, leaving Nailsea worthy winners by 59 runs.

The season proved highly successful for the Under-15s, who also claimed the Bristol Youth League divisional title and reached both the North Somerset and Bristol Youth Cup finals.

Coach Nick Tidball paid tribute to the squad’s team spirit and commitment at training and in matches, despite the adverse weather during the season.
