Nailsea Under-13s defeat unbeaten Bristol Youth League leaders Old Bristolians.

NAILSEA Under-13s entertained unbeaten Bristol Youth League leaders Old Bristolians, initially missing two players, delayed at an athletics meeting.

Old B’s decided to bat first and were 46-1 before Nailsea’s athletes took the field, with Sam Iles belatedly coming on to bowl and making an immediate impact with the wicket of opener Archie Lock who was caught by Sol Wanjau-Smith.

Iles then took a further three wickets, Tej Chadeesingh (3) and Ben Pinkney (2) to put the hosts in a strong position.

Harry Davies (14) and Jack Houston (12) gave Nailsea a solid platform, but with the pressure mounting and the run rate increasing, Sam Iles top scored with 18 not out to steer the team home with Pinkney, with three overs left.
