After promotion last year, confidence is high at Cleeve ahead of the new campaign.
Having finished runners-up to Lodway, who they beat home and away, in Bristol & District League Three, Cleeve start the season at Lansdown seconds on May 4.
Overseas player Nikhil Bhajipale returns for his third summer at the club, while the seconds begin at home against Bishop Sutton firsts on the same day after a mid-table finish in Division Eight’s 40-over competition.
Cleeve will continue to run their youth cricket programme, with matches likely to commence towards the end of April.
Fixtures are due to be published later this month for under-11s, under-13s and under-15s and Kwik cricket for seven to 10-year-olds will continue on Friday evenings from May.
There are also some plans in place for some under-nine softball cricket tournaments during the summer.
Cleeve welcomes boys, girls and adults of all ages and abilities to join the club, which boasts one of the best playing surfaces and facilities in the region.
Match shirts are provided thanks to generous sponsors and winter nets are already underway.
Further sessions are due to take place at Weston CC on Sunday March 10, from 1-2pm for under-11s and under-13s and from 2pm for under-15s and seniors, and on March 17 (4-5pm, 5-6pm).
Nailsea School will host other sessions on March 31, April 7 and April 14 (1-2pm, 2-3pm), with outdoor nets starting at the club from Friday April 19 (6.30pm).
Anyone new to the area or those looking to get involved in cricket once again can either turn up on one of those dates, refer to the club website cleeve.play-cricket.com or call club secretary Stuart Williams on 07771 820054 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The club also welcomes coaches, scorers and umpires and has sponsorship opportunities available for any individuals or businesses who might be looking to promote in the area.
