In response, Jonathan Shepherd and Ben Hazeldene set about chasing the target and put 45 on the board before a wicket fell at which point Nick Carpenter came to the crease.

Nick, supported by Mike Purnell, Mike Handley and Pete Hancock, held his guard for the remainder of the match and not only scored a stunning 75 not out, also struck the winning runs with two overs to spare.

After the match all the players were congratulated for such a high standard of cricket and Nick was presented with the bubbly for an innings that steered the Community League to victory.
