Cleeve CC held their youth presentation evening on Friday to celebrate another fine season.

As well as playing in the North Somerset League, the club holds Kwik Cricket for six to 10 year olds on Friday evenings, run by Mark Jones.

Phil Gostlin's under-11s, with support from Dan Jones, finished 12th out of 18 in their league, as Ben Hiles' under-13s secured a top-half position, with support from Ross Basnet and Ed Clarke.

A young under-15s side had to work hard against older teams, but hope for a better 2020 season.

John Hance compered the evening and steps down after nine years as junior team manager, with both of his sons having progressed to the first team.

A spokesperson said: "The club would like to thank John for all his efforts, where most week's first team comprise nearly all former youth team players. Several youngsters stepped up for adult debuts this year, showing the continued success for John's efforts."

Medals were awarded to all, with specific player of the season, most improved and champagne moment awards for under-11s, under-13s and under-15s.

Winter nets begin in the new year. Email for more details.
