Claverham 2nd XI suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of YMCA, who reached their target after 22 overs.

With cloud cover and the faint hint of drizzle in the air, Claverham 2nd XI were asked to bat first and soon lost openers Rich Horton and Andrew Mayers for single figures.

Alex Croker (47) batted sensibly with promising partnerships, but Claverham were soon 51-4 and in trouble of collapse.

Max Horton joined Croker and a fine partnership produced 60 runs before youngster Horton was dismissed for a patient 13. Wickets continued to regularly fall with the final toll being 147.

The YMCA openers soon attacked the Claverham opening bowlers and raced to 100 in 15 overs. The introduction of another Under-13 in the side saw Louie Woodland (1-15) take his first senior league wicket, clean bowling the dangerous Andrew Hyde for 79.

YMCA reached their target in the 22nd over, but special note should be made of Jake Brand, the third Under-13 player that Claverham were able to introduce into the side.
