Clevedon Badminton Club return to the town to play its matches after an absence of 10 years.

CLEVEDON Badminton Club will return to the town after an absence of 10 years.

The club was forced to move from Clevedon in 2001, when St Brandon’s School closed down and it could not find an alternative venue locally. The last 10 years have seen the club play at Backwell School, but the opportunity has finally arrived for its return to Clevedon.

On September 1 at 8.05pm, the club start playing at the newly revamped sports centre at Clevedon School. The club is keen to encourage new members to join, though for beginners they would recommend the excellent club run by Judy Howse at Strode Road.

In this Olympic year with a recent British silver medal in the badminton world championships, now is the time to be enthusiastic, dust of those rackets and come and play.
