Clevedon Swimming Club got the new season underway with victory at a development meet at Millfield School.

Clevedon Swimming Club, sponsored by Hotspring South West and Wales, have been working hard in preparation for the start of the new swimming season under the guidance of new head coach Sanchia Reed.

More than 60 swimmers from the club travelled to Millfield to compete in the Somerset ASA development meet.

The meet, aimed at new and inexperienced swimmers or those doing events that are not their strongest, provides swimmers with an opportunity to put into practice the skills they have been working on.

Clevedon’s swimmers not only impressed their new head coach, achieving more than 230 personal best times during the weekend and achieving the top club award at the gala.

Their impressive medal tally comprised of 23 gold, 28 silver, and 25 bronze medals, representing a significantly higher number than last year across all three awards.

Clevedon’s swimmers continue to work hard in hope of building on their early season successes, while looking to increase their number of swimmers qualifying at county, regional and national levels throughout the season.

In the 2016 Mini Series League final taking place in November, Clevedon will be looking to maintain their current lead and aiming for another win to retain the trophy for the second year running.
