Clevedon Swimming Club recorded another victory, this time in the second round of the Cotswold League./

Clevedon Swimming Club were hosts for the second round of the Cotswold League at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, pitted against the visiting teams Cheltenham, Bristol Penguins and Bristol North.

The team of 30 swimmers competed in individual and team relay events to come out on top, despite some last-minute alterations to the team.

The evening started off well with some impressive swims where Clevedon swimmers took first place in five of the first 10 events, with the remaining five all finishing in the top three, which gave Clevedon a one-point lead over Cheltenham.

The next 10 events were just as successful with more fast swims, first places and top three finishes and even saw the boys 11 and under medley relay team disqualified for being too fast.

With a further 14 first places and 15 top three finishes, Clevedon’s lead was strengthened to finally win the gala with a total of 154 points. Cheltenham were placed second with 137, followed by Bristol Penguins and Bristol North on 136 and 66 respectively.
