Clevedon swimmers finish creditable fourth

Depleted Clevedon Swimming Club squad impress in latest gala

A TEAM from Clevedon Swimming Club travelled to Wellington for the third round of this year’s Cotswolds Series and despite a depleted squad, Clevedon put in a solid performance.

Once again there were some impressive swims and many new personal best times set in what was always going to be a tough gala against teams from the upper half of the league table.

Clevedon put in a strong performance to finish in a creditable fourth place, with points as follows: Backwell 172, Minehead 136, Cinderford 126 and Clevedon 78.

New personal best times were set by Bethan Clinton, Bethany Hodge, Ellen Gentry, Ellie Varney, Bridie King, Kelsie Carter, Keziah Douglas, Emily Sturdy, John Gall, Jason Fisher, Sam Knowlton, Luke Maidment, Sam Hodge, George Symonds and David Warnes. Sam Hodge was also an individual race winner on the night.

Star swimmer on the night was one of the club’s masters 
swimmers, John Gall, who swam three open events producing a credible 1.06 in the 100m free.
