Athletics: Clevedon’s Hewlett completes major marathon challenge

Clevedon AC’s Martin Hewlett completed his World Marathon Majors Series challenge at the Tokyo event.
Having run the New York, London, Chicago, Berlin and Boston events, Hewlett finished in 2:57.72 in Japan and was awarded a unique medal for his achievement.
Clubmates Eloise Hooper ran a half marathon best of 1:37.34 at Newport, where Nigel Charman clocked 1:38.45, while Helen Ball (1:47.39), Marie Lockrie (1:59.38) and Andy Hall (2:01.37) competed in the scenic Bideford half marathon, following the River Torridge along the Tarka Trail.
Ball was fourth among F50 athletes
Francesca Rawlings set a new best of 2:23.14 at the Wimbourne 20 to finish as first F35 and second woman overall.
