Clevedon Athletic Club members have been busy in the past few weeks, taking part in long distance team relay events as well as shorter distances.

It has been a busy few weeks of racing for Clevedon Athletic Club members as they have taken part and performed well in numerous events, including finishing 10th at the 20-stage, 200-mile Welsh Castles Relay and 16th at the 10-stage, 100-mile Cotswold relay.

Jo Gallagher was first lady home at the Nailsea Beer and Banger 10k, while Helen Ball and Phil Collins won age group prizes at the Lacock 10k and Simon Hawkes picked up an age group prize at the Chew Valley 10k.

Off road, Simon Smith took part in the hilly Man vs Horse event and Matt Crocker finished ninth in the 69-mile The Wall event.

Last week, three members took part in the much shorter, but faster paced Sri Chimnoy two-mile race around Eastville Park. Congratulations to Steve Wood (11.13), Dawn Barcham (14.20) and Jane Cooley (15.16) who all achieved medal-winning times.

This year, the club marks its 40th anniversary and 100 members, new and old, recently spent an enjoyable evening celebrating at Clevedon Hall.
