Clevedon RFC held their Summer Ball and Awards Night at The Grand Pier, Weston recently.

The event was attended by players, members and supporters all throughout the club.

Clevedon, who celebrated their 100th anniversary last season, handed out awards for Adam Livingston, William Trollope, Matthew Fisher, James Lugtig and Bradley Summerell.

The quintuplet picked up the Most Improved Player, Grafter of the Season, Players' Player, Captain's Player and Coaches Player respectively.

For the seconds, David Hervey won Most Improved Player, Ed Salisbury claimed Grafter of the Season, Jamie Tweedy picked up Players' Player, Matthew Northcott secured the Captain's Player and Ollie Wilson was awarded the Coaches Player.

Further awards included Brian Largenton receiving the Try Scoring Cup while Ethan Thomas won the Kicking Cup.

The Youth Section Team of the Season was given to the under-11s while Volunteer Of The Season went to John Vanstone.

Dave Keytes and Dominic Hale were awarded captain’s tankards and there was a second prize for Salisbury with the Special Recognition Award as Tom Weaver ended proceedings with Employee of the Year.

Club chairman Neil Tucker also had the privilege to award Tom Thie his 500th cap, which he achieved in 2020 but had not yet received due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"This was our first award's night since 2019 due to Covid and it was great to have everyone back to celebrate the season," said Tucker.

"It was great to present Tom Thie with his 500th cap."
