In total the event raised £1231.20 with TokioMarine HCC agreeing to double the figure.

All the money will go to help Ukraine following the invasion by Russia.

“It is events like these that show what a great local rowing community we are part of," said Andrew Brown, chair of Clevedon Pilot Gig Club.

"So, thanks again to Bristol, Portishead and Porlock Gig Clubs and a few rowers from Clevedon Coastal who joined us to raise much-needed funds for a very worthy cause.”

The next big event in the gig rowing calendar is The Isles of Scilly World Championships, which is a full weekend of races starting on Friday April 29.
