Athletics: Clevedon members tackle various challenges

Clevedon AC members have been hitting the roads, hills and fells in recent weeks.

Rob Grubb completed the 55-mile Ultra Trail Snowdonia, covering an accumulative elevation gain of 17,000 feet on the mountrain run, in a time of 18 hours 27 minutes.

Meanwhile, Francesca Rawlings represented the club at the Wells 10k, an undulating course along country lanes which finished by the Bishops Palace, and was pleased to finish in 41.25 for second female overall.

Steve Wood and Sally Richards took part in the Hogweed 10k Trot, a predominately flat course and popular choice with over 400 finishers.

Wood had a great race, crossing the line at Yate Football Club in 36.30 for sixth place to claim the V40 trophy and an Avon county medal, while Richards was second V40 in a a personal best of 47.18.
