CLEVEDON Ladies second team moved to within a point of the leaders in Brunel Division 2, with three games in hand following this comfortable home victory.

Clevedon attacked from the start forcing the visitors back and it wasn’t long before Annie McNamara put the home side ahead following a short corner and Zoe Patterson soon made it two with a well-placed shot.

Clevedon’s midfield, with player of the match Ella Davey outstanding, provided the launch pad for the forwards. McNamara made it three, powerfully striking home from a short corner, before Lizzie Vowels popped up to get the fourth goal and bring the opening half to a close.

After the break, the home defence continued to deny the Cheddar forwards, with Amy Eager in goal having a quiet match. Clevedon continued to press and Patterson was on hand to make it five and Steph Lynch was rewarded with goal number six.
