Two students from Clevedon Tang Soo Do (a form of Korean karate) have achieved their black belt grades.

Richard Walsh and Sophie Fielder have both been training for years, but put in extra work to make the jump to 1st Dan Black Belt.

Sophie began Tang Soo Do in 2010 and has been coming almost every week since. Chief instructor Jim Richards said: “You can always count on Sophie to come along, she has worked hard and consistently for a long time.”

Richard began Tang Soo Do in 2003, but had to take a break for a few years restarting again in 2011.

Richards said: “Richard has worked very hard and in passing this grade has finished the journey he began back in 2003. I’m very proud of what they have both achieved.”

Classes run Monday nights at Yeo Moor Primary(7.30-9pm). For more information, please phone 01275 871623 or check www.clevedontangsoodo.co.uk
