Clevedon's Dan Williams say it is too early to talk about the WEPL Prem One title, with them 19 points clear at the top ahead of a trip to Cheltenham.

Williams nabbed 3-36 to help dismiss Bedminster for 181 last weekend, before Harry Ellison (74) and Will Plummer (41) led the way with the bat to seal a three-wicket win.

And Williams hailed their young side and the efforts of the two batting heroes, saying: "It was a fantastic win on Saturday against a very good Bedminster side.

"We had six under-18s in our side which is quite incredible at this level. Someone pointed out that the average age was 20. I was third oldest at 27, which was not a nice feeling!

"Harry's innings was great. I've played with Harry for many years and he always seems to find a way of scoring runs when the team needs it most.

"He was extremely well supported by Will, who put on a partnership at a crucial part of the game when we were 60-5.

"The bowling unit have all been brilliant so far, it's very much been a joint effort this season which carried on against Bedminster."

That made it six wins out of seven for Clevedon, while Cheltenham currently have just two wins to their name.

But Williams does not expect an easy away day, adding: "We are all very much looking forward to Cheltenham, it is a lovely ground too which always makes it better.

"They are a very good side who can beat anyone on their day. I know from personal experience we've never had an eay game against them.

"We won't really take too much notice they've lost their last couple of games. We will just keep focusing on us and what we can control and go into the game the same as we have done in previous weeks."

Williams admits there is a great feeling in the Clevedon camp, though, and they want to maintain their momentum as the midway point of the season approaches.

He added: "There's a real buzz around the group at the minute and you can see everyone is loving playing together which is great.

"It's too early to talk about winning the league but we just need to keep the winning momentum going and hopefully we can do that at Cheltenham."
