Eloise Baker and Vicki Leckie both recorded personal bests at the Exeter Half Marathon.

The pair knocked several minutes off their old marks, as consistent training in recent weeks paid off handsomely.

The flat, scenic course on paths and cycle tracks along the River Exe and Exeter canal was into a headwind, but Baker clocked 1:38.51 and Leckie came home in 1:51.43.

The Ironwood Challenge 10k on Sunday began in Long Ashton village and the hilly, off-road route had some tough climbs and slippery downhill sections.

But Francesca Rawlings came home first for Clevedon, followed by Sally Richards, Nicole Skippins and Ashley Lockton.

Clevedon AC train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, leaving from the Strode Leisure Centre at 7pm.
