Clevedon AC members produced great results last weekend after consistent, targeted training over the last few months.

A team of 18 travelled up to Sutton Park on Saturday to take part in the Midlands Road Relays - a top class event which attracts strong teams from all over the country.

Roseanna Stanfield took part in the under-17 event, with the women up next in the six-stage race.

Stages one and three are longer at 5.3 miles and were run by Polly Atherton and Natalie Southernwood, with Jemma Lewis, Hannah Feely, Helen Ball and Laura Meech completing shorter 5k legs.

A fantastic effort by all resulted in a 24th-place finish out of 52 teams, with special mention to Feely, racing for the first time as a Clevedon AC member.

The men’s event consisted of four long legs, run by Jack Richardson, Jack Last, Luke Murray and Steve Wood.

The 5k stages were completed by Matt Crocker, Jonah Murray, Gary Lewis, Martin Hewlett, Matt Browning, Alex Murray, Clive Richards and Nick Hides.

Under increasingly warm conditions over the day the team raced well, completing the relay in 30th position out of 53 teams.

Closer to home, Emma Foster ran the Weston half marathon and, despite the hills and heat, took seven minutes off her personal best to cross the finish in two hours and six minutes.

Foster's two daughters also ran the Community Mile and won with medals all round.
