Athletics: Clevedon members make most of conditions

Clevedon AC members enjoyed perfect race conditions at the Newport Marathon.
Martin Hewlett added another marathon to his list as he finished in 3:10, while Francesca Rawlings broke the women's club record with a new best of 3:05.07, which was good enough for third female and first in the V35 group.
A fast course led to more good times at the Tewkesbury half marathon, with Luke Murray finishing second in 1:14.42.
Laura Meech was third female in 1:31.33, while Steve Wood was second V40 in 1:20.28.
Team prizes were awarded to the men and women's teams, as Ben Burns (Ben Burns 1:20.15), Tom Abrahams (1:22.49), Gary Lewis (1:24.44), Robin Hambly (1:29.09), Vicki Leckie (1:51.11), Steph James (1:54.34) and Kathryn Mortimore (1:55.05) set personal bests.
Matt Crocker (1:24.33), Alex Murray (1:30.13), Helen Wood (1:48.01), Sally Richards (1:48.09) and Marie Lochrie (2:01.03) were also in action ahead of the Misummer 10k on June 12.
