Stuart Beaver and Henry Hoult retained their mens doubles title at Backwell Tennis Club in the delayed 2018 final recently.

Originally postponed last September at the club's finals day, as one of the finalists was unwell, an attempt to stage the tie in February fell through due to bad weather.

But the players finally took to the court in April and Beaver and Hoult took the first set 6-1.

Ben Kirkley and Tom Jackson hit back to win the second set on a tie-break, but Beaver eventually served out a tense final game to win the third set 6-4.

Backwell's tournament is one of the largest in the region and the club is proud of its competitive and social tennis, with players of all abilities welcome.

The coaching set-up is led by Ben Tiling and anyone wanting more information can email him at matchpointtennis@live.co.uk.
