Lewis got off to a flying start, with Wood chasing him down and passing him as they hit the downhill section back into the town.

Wood finished strong in sixth place as second M45, with Lewis in eighth.

Five Clevedon runners took part in the Oldbury Power 10-miler, run on a quiet figure of eight course on the outskirts of Thornbury.

Despite warm conditions Lee Southernwood ran well and was first home for the club in 12th in 1:01.26 ahead of Martin Hewlett (1:05.58).

Clive Richards returned from injury in 1:07.07, ahead of Jason Moss (1:12.18) and Kathryn Mortimore (1:31.47).

Joanne Gallagher was first woman home in the Bridgwater half marathon in a best of 1:28.01, while Francesca Rawlings defended her 10k title in 39.28, as Clare Holdaway and Kerry Coombes ran the Cotswold Trail 10k at beautiful Sudeley Castle.
