Clevedon’s men rounded off a highly successful season by winning the Turnbull Cup at Chew Stoke on Sunday.

Facing Somerset rivals Taunton at the picturesque green, Clevedon were crowned champions with nine ends to go after captain Nick Pearce led his rink to a crushing 35-7 win.

That left them 24 shots up overall and forced Taunton to concede.

Success came after Clevedon had lost regional finals in the National Top CLub and National Double Rink to Torquay side Kings, who fielded a number of England Commonwealth Games bowlers.

And in a further boost to the club, despite their loss on Saturday, the B team secured promotion in the Somerset League.
