Two teams from Portishead reach the final of a Shoot Out Club tournament.
A PARTY of Portishead skittlers, consisting of 11 couples, were split into two teams and found he or she was playing against their better half after being drawn out of a hat.
Competing in a Shoot Out Club tournament, members of Pirates of Possett A and B teams lined up to play each other. “You can imagine how keenly it was fought,” said club secretary Mark Russell. “There was an awful lot of banter and it made for a right old battle.”
And if that wasn’t bad enough, both teams made the final so partners found themselves competing against each other for the coveted Shoot Out trophy. In the end, Pirates of Possett B team emerged 407-382 winners. Top scorer in the winning team was Rob Douglas with 17 points and a spare.
The Pirates of Possett have been playing at the Clarence House Pub for decades and are regulars at Shoot Out tournaments.
