West Backwell Bowling Club made the most of their 90th anniversary season, despite the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

David Rhys Jones paid tribute to former bowls partner and friend of 57 years David Bryant by calling him ‘the greatest bowler the world has ever seen’ after his death at the age of 88.

Nailsea Bowls Club enjoyed a fun community day as locals tried their hand at lawn bowls.

David Bryant, the winner of five Commonwealth gold medals, 11 World Outdoor Bowls Championship medals and nine titles at the World Indoor Championships, has died at the age of 88.

In line with government guidance Somerset Bowls staged an open pairs tournament at Clevedon Bowling Club.
