Portishead Dragon Tang Soo Do student Jake Cogzell was recently awarded his black belt first dan.

The Gordano School student completed a challenging grading to achieve it and said: "I'm so pleased to have achieved black belt as it's something I've strived for since day one."

Master Elaine Evans, sixth dan, added: "Jake did an amazing job and represented the club in true Tang Soo spirit."

Instructor Kelvin Buckner trains a class at Gordano School sport centre on Fridays at 7pm.

Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean martial art suitable for all ages and abilities and anyone interested can call Kelvin on 07494 601122 or visit dtsd.co.uk.
