Several members of Clevedon Athletic Club took part in a beach clean at Ladye Bay.

The event was part of the Marine Conservation Society Beachwatch campaign, a national beach cleaning and litter surveying programme.

Details of the items collected by members were documented to help the society monitor the commonest types of litter either washed up or left behind on our coastline.

Volunteers were encouraged to find the beach in a relatively clean condition, but several bags were filled, most items being plastic pieces, drinks cans, food containers and wet wipes.

Places have been filling up fast for the popular Clevedon 10k that takes place on June 12 at 7.30pm. Online entries have now closed, but entries will be taken from 6pm on the night at race HQ, Mary Elton School.

The flat course takes runners along Lower Strode Road and then on to Back Lane for a loop through Kingston Seymour village before heading back towards Clevedon to the finish line at the school.
