In an entertaining game, the home side’s greater experience finally told as they beat a battling Clevedon team.
Making her first appearance this season, in fact first for many seasons, was club stalwart Janice Cumming, stepping into the fray Janice belied the years with her tactical positioning.
The first half saw Clevedon defending, but with Christina Becker in the goal and Meg Coulter in commanding form, Hanham were unable to find way through.
The visitors went close as Ella Davey ran tirelessly to set up attacks and Tamsin Debude was equally untiring as she foiled many home attacks with great tackling and inspired interceptions which saw Clevedon level at half time.
After the break, Hanham took the lead after six minutes. Clevedon responded when Cumming brought cheers from the onlookers as she powered in a shot from the top of the D which was well saved by the home keeper.
Clevedon won a short corner Rachel Elliot received the ball sending an accurate pass to Davey, who clinically swept home to level the scores. The home side stormed into the attack, but found Elliot and Sophie Bowen blocking their way.
Pressure told and the home side took the lead. At the other end, Daisy Lacey went close as Clevedon continued to search for the equaliser, but with time running out Hanham scored a third and final goal to take the points.
