Backwell Tennis Club is growing stronger and now has more than 300 members.

The summer season is starting and Backwell Tennis Club is stronger than ever - now with more than 300 members.

The club has five floodlit all-weather courts, with top class individual and group coaching for adults and juniors, run by the tennis manager and head coach Ben Tilling.

The club is open to anyone from beginners to advanced standard with social club play on a Tuesday and Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon. This coming summer season will also see Backwell run seven men’s and four ladies’ league teams, for those who want more competitive tennis.

The club is also running the LTA Tennis for Kids programme. The programme is for children aged four to 11. For a £25 fee, each child will receive six hours of training, a new racket and balls.

If they wish to continue with further coaching, this can follow on through the club’s coaching programme.

Backwell is one of the first non-commercial clubs to obtain the Clubmark Standard. This is achieved by meeting the standards and procedures set out by the Lawn Tennis Association in relation to coaching standards, child protection and health and safety.

If you are interested in joining the club, please go to the club website for membership details and full information about the club and its activities.
